Hi, I am Muna, and I am delighted you have found me on your wellness journey. My creative superpowers include: curating beautiful spaces, making and eating nourishing and delicious food, and exploring both stillness and movement through the practices I share. Every day is an opportunity to engage with the mind-body connection through which I live my human experience as fully as possible.
I am a full-time, self employed Mum, living with my Husband and Son in Sheffield. I love watching my garden grow, filling my house with beautiful plant life and taking walks in the countryside and our beautiful city; finding beauty everywhere in the natural world, both urban and rural, and especially by the water. Whether in ocean, river, stream or rain I love to be surrounded by this element and there is nothing quite like the smell of wet earth after a thunderstorm.
I love to dance, sometimes make jewellery and have a keen eye for gorgeous preloved clothes. I expand my heart through reading prose and poetry, ‘playing with words’ to express my own truth and cultivating gratitude as often as possible.
When I started yoga, I was SUPER inflexible; mentally as well as physically. I had no exercise routine to speak of and I was constantly tired, irritable and unsettled. I KNEW I was too young to be feeling this way. I wanted more energy, more juice and it was Yoga that began my journey towards a richer, more energised life.
I began practice in my late twenties, studying Ashtanga-based Yoga (link). This physically demanding, powerful, flowing style resonated strongly with me at that time in my life and I really enjoyed the physical challenge it offered.
Yoga was hard for me in the beginning, but I quickly began to relish the deep relaxation and sense of joy I felt afterwards. As time passed, the benefits increased; I was less stressed, more at home in my body and my ability to focus on what I wanted in my life was growing stronger. I began to feel a sense of balance and wholeness, which I realised was what I had been craving all along. Yoga lead me there and it continues to be a huge part of my life.
As time passed and I began traversing new challenges in parenthood, small-business ownership and the demands of our fast-paced society, my yoga practise became ground for a new search: for space and a mental quietude. It became increasingly clear that, in order to keep thriving and living my fullest life, I needed to take time to connect with myself, my body and my breath, and to slow down and embrace the emptiness of space and silence.
In this search for silence I discovered the power of sound. After participating in my first gong bath in 2015 I was completely blown away by the sense of calm and deep relaxation that stayed with me for days after the event. Digging a little deeper into the experience I discovered that sound baths have a cumulative effect on our wellbeing; the more you have the more you benefit! This richness of beauty and impact resonated with me and I began to seek out more opportunities to immerse in it.
I experienced my first Crystal singing bowls in 2016, at an event hosted by the East London Juice Company. I fell fast in love with the way they looked, sounded and (most importantly) the way they made me feel. My husband bought me my first singing bowls for my birthday and the rest of my collection comes mostly from family. I became the delighted owner of my first gong in February 2020. I am officially hooked on giving (and receiving) sound baths!
Inspiration for all my classes and events comes from every part of who I am. Expect beautiful spaces, held with a diligent attention to detail, a light, playful delivery style and a lot of love.
I am looking forward to meeting you.
